Firstly, I would like to thank the small number of parents that at tended the ‘Meet the Headteacher’ sessions yesterday. A great discussion took place covering lots of subjects; agreed outcomes were taken from the meeting and areas will be addressed to benefit everyone.

Areas discussed:
• Improvements around communication
• School blog or Newsletter
• Introducing new staff
• Reminders on things like Online pupil progress report release dates
• Better communication on Homework
• School Calendar and website updates
• Parents evening for nursery children
• Clearer uniform letters/same descriptions on website and school money
• Class Dojo certificates
• Promoting Jester’s weekly activities
• More school trips
• Arranging this year’s AGM meeting and PTA events
• Academy consultation

I have now had chance to update the school calendar on the website, providing a link below for quick access. Please keep in mind that dates may change, we will update the calendar regularly and notify parents of any changes leading up to Christmas.

Please could I draw your attention to two nursery/school events coming up in the next few weeks. On 28th September we will be hosting our National Charity event for MacMillan Cancer Trust as a coffee morning and afternoon. Our morning event will be hosted by Dinky Dragons and afternoon Tea will be hosted by the Year 4 pupils in the school dining room. To all you budding bakers out there, we would gratefully receive any homemade (or bought) cakes, biscuits, buns, cookies to be sold on the day.

Our second event is our PTA Sea Monster’s Ball, which will be held on 19th October between 1:15pm -3:15pm. The disco will be free for all children to attend but we would like to set up stalls and activities for children to enjoy too. We are looking for any help from our parents to run an activity (face painting, pin-the-tail etc.) or simply serving refreshments. If you are available to help please contact our reception and we will contact you nearer the time to help organise the event.

I have agreed to more ‘Meet the Headteacher’ sessions in the future and have pencilled in the next session for Thursday 29th November.

Thank you for your continued support.
