Dinky Dragons Open Day – Monday 29th October 2018

September 2018

May 2017

This week at Dinky Dragons we have been experimenting by making ‘volcanoes’ and seeing whether raisins will sink or float in lemonade or water. The children have had fun predicting and thinking what was going to happen.

The excitement in Dinky Dragons today was contagious!  Walter’s dragon and reptile workshop visited the little ones with real life ‘Dragons’ for all of the children to see and touch if they wanted to.  The children were a little curious to begin with but soon realised how gentle the reptiles were and everyone loved having them so close to touch and watch them close up!

Friends of the Earth are regular visitors to St George’s.  They love our open spaces and come equipped in wellies and macs in all weathers to give our wildlife area some tender love and care.  Today the Nursery children from Dinky Dragons decided it was time they gave them a helping hand.

The children enjoyed the sponsored bounce for Red Nose Day.  All of the children dressed up and lots of fundraising went on for a very good cause.  The children had a fabulous time and captured here in a very smiley photo!

February 2017

It was a time to celebrate Dinky Dragon’s first year anniversary with soft play equipment, a ball pond and a bubble disco.  Thanks so much to our brilliant PTA for organising.

Dinky Dragon’s children enjoying catching bubbles at our ‘End of Half term’ disco. Always nice to get out of school uniform to raise money for the school playground project too.  We raised over £350 across the school with an activities afternoon, disco and parents tea and coffee afternoon.  Well done everybody!

January 2017

This week at Dinky Dragons we have been learning about Chinese New Year. We have made Chinese lanterns and masks. Today all the children made a Chinese Dragon. They all had great fun dancing with their Dragon at outside play today.

March 2016

‘Mum’s the word’ – Our Dinky Dragons hosted a wonderful Tea Party to celebrate Mother’s Day. Earlier in the week each child made an individual card and present, including personalised coffee cup coasters ready for that Sunday morning surprise as a special gift. On the day of the Tea Party they set about preparing for their special guest. Everything was handmade; from the table cloth (personalised by using their own hand prints for the pattern) to very posh cucumber sandwiches made with that very special ingredient, love! To add that special touch our nursery children picked several bunches of daffodils from the school garden to decorate the table.
